COLORADO HOMES & LIFESTYLES
February 2006, page 89
Instead of creating the typical mountain home entrance, Fretheim (pictured here) used a traditional European approach. Because the home is so large (8,000 square feet), she wisely chose large-scale furnishings to create balance and a sense of granduer on par with its architecture. The walls are covered with beautiful plaster while carved Spanish Chairs [by Charles Pollock Reproductions] flank a heavy Spanish table.

ARCHITECTURAL DIGEST, October 2005, page 122 to 128
Story of Old Hollywood – As featured in the October–2005 issue of Architectural Digest the residence of Charles Pollock showcases many of the original antique furniture pieces that inspired their replication into the collection. His opulent West Hollywood 1920’s residence, steeped in old Hollywood history is filled to the brim with amazing antique furniture pieces from around the world.
His eclectic taste, coupled with a keen and savvy eye for style are evident throughout the collection as it offers a little something to a wide variety of clients and tastes. While Mr. Pollock assembled the collection, unlike others, his focus was not on a specific look. He located pieces such as old doors, parquet flooring, tables and chairs that he found to be unusual, but yet interesting. Then, he worked his magic by creating something from nothing, changing scale, pitch, flipping legs or just adding details true to the piece, but that made them more important. This creative method allowed him to assemble a furniture collection, like no other. He has captured an expansive audience to include some of the worlds leading interior designers and architects and these amazingly beautiful pieces have found their way into some of the fines homes. |

ARCHITECTURAL DIGEST, November 2005, page 268 to 275
Beauty in Diversity – Once again, Charles Pollock graces the pages of Architectural Digest. In this featured article “Old World and New Agree on a Hillside in Los Angeles” designers are moving towards a new trend of mixing old with new. In this particular residence architect, Harold Levitt creates a wonderful contemporary background to house designer Martynus-Tripp’s amazing use of old with new. Although the architectural elements of the hillside home are clearly more modern, it offers a wonderful backdrop to stage good use of varied old-world furniture pieces such as the Etruscan Table from the Charles Pollock collection.

INTERIOR DESIGN, NeoCon World’s Trade Fair
June 2005, page 104
Charles Pollock Reproductions brings the classics of 17th-, 18th-, and 19th-century Europe back to life — only better. The Italian Baroque credenza is a hand-painted 17th-century reproduction but, unlike its ancestor, is fitted with adjustable shelving. Distressed with pale green and ivory architectural elements, it replicates an orginal antique.
Other offerings from CPR include the Gustavian bar unit and ornate Bernini focal table — both of which are less distressed but just as classic looking — and a tufted armchair to go by the fireplace.
